Learn and Refresh your DBT Skills

The Aim of the Groups

These groups are focussed on specific skills to give an opportunity to learn about them and how to put them into practice, or as a refresher for people who have previous experience of DBT Skills

Participants:  There will be a maximum of 8 participants. (The group will still run if only one person joins as DBT skills can still be discussed and worked on.)
Duration:  60 minutes (1-4 Participants)  90 minutes (5-8 Participants including 5 minute break)

These groups are open to:

  • People who have an interest in putting DBT skills into practice for themselves.
  • Those who are currently attending a DBT Skills Training Group elsewhere. (Although you might want to discuss this with your DBT Therapist)
  • People who have completed a DBT Skills Training Group.
  • Those who may be on a waiting list for a DBT skills group but would like some prior understanding.

You can attend for any group for as many times as you wish.

DBT works with the idea that everything is inter-related and therefore you should try to practice all of the skills.  Pick and Mix gives you the opportunity to learn and practice just the skills that you might find helpful rather than entering a full DBT Training Group.

Every effort has been made to make these specific skills groups stand alone.  However, some groups and topics may assume prior knowledge of DBT and other DBT skills.

Please note that this is not a crisis service.  DBT Skills need to be practiced with the aim of achieving a life worth living.
